The Problem
The Taiwan Film Festival Edinburgh required a comprehensive printed and digital programme to showcase its diverse lineup. The challenge was to organise a large amount of scheduling information and film synopses into a layout that was highly functional for festival-goers while still reflecting the vibrant, artistic spirit of Taiwanese cinema. The design needed to maintain a high level of legibility and professional polish to appeal to both local Edinburgh audiences and international film partners.
The Solution
I developed a structured yet visually engaging programme layout that prioritises ease of navigation and clear information hierarchy. By balancing bold typography with high-quality film stills, I created a design that guides the reader through the festival’s offerings while celebrating the visual storytelling of the films themselves. The final programme was optimised for both print and digital distribution, providing the festival with a professional and cohesive communication tool that effectively promoted the event and enhanced the overall experience for attendees.
