The Problem
The International Research Software Conference (IRSC) required a visual identity that established an immediate, recognisable connection with its parent organisation, ReSA. The challenge was to create a brand for the summit that felt professional and authoritative without being visually cluttered. The identity needed to be highly functional, ensuring that key information remained clear and readable across a wide variety of both digital and print formats used during the event’s outreach and communications.
The Solution
I selected green as the primary colour to create a direct visual bridge to the ReSA brand, while adopting a clean, minimalist aesthetic that keeps the focus firmly on the conference. Every element—including typography, spacing, and layout—was carefully considered to ensure maximum clarity and professionalism. To support the summit's promotion, I also developed a flexible banner system designed for social media, newsletters, and other platforms, providing a visually cohesive tool that ensures the IRSC identity remains consistent across digital and print.
